Count what you have
Inventory tab, right-hand panel
The Inventory holds a count for everything there's a recipe for: gathered resources by region, crafted parts by station, blocks, and every item you can make. It's the one place counts change. Type what you're holding into each box; Enter moves to the next.
- This plan and Crafting list narrow it to what those still need, all the way down the recipes, each marked with what's needed and whether to gather or craft it.
- The Build tab and the Crafting list show these counts. Click one there to jump to it in the Inventory.
- Counts are shared by all your plans. Each plan compares them only with its own needs.
In the Build tab, every block the plan uses has a row, and chests, stations and furniture are under Items still to place. The arrow at a row's end opens its ingredients, with the count for each.
Reading a row
Each row is a smart count: what's in your inventory, what you could craft right now, and what's still to gather.
- 70 / 160 in inventory
- Finished blocks you have, against what the plan still needs.
- craft the rest: 1 craft
- You can craft enough right now to finish. One craft makes a batch (100 for most blocks), so here one batch covers the last 90.
- 25 craftable
- Shown instead when you can only craft part of it: how many you could make now, in whole crafts.
- gather …
- The raw materials still missing to finish the lot.
The count follows the whole chain. Moonstone Block needs Sparkling Dust, which the Mill makes from Diamond, Moonstone, Celestium Ore and Mother-of-Pearl, so your raw Moonstone counts twice over. Parts you already hold are used before any are made.
Set Diamond, Celestium Ore and Mother-of-Pearl to 4 in the Inventory, and the example's Moonstone row changes to “craft the rest: 1 craft (makes 100)”.
- Raw and finished together: Moonstone Blocks and raw Moonstone each have their own count. The row uses the blocks first, then what the raw can make.
- Shared materials: each row counts against everything you have, on its own. If two blocks both use your Stone, both show what they could make. Craft one, update the counts, and the other rebalances.
- Items work the same way, through their parts down to raw materials. Anything not in the 1.0 recipe data says so.
Gather what's short
Crafting list, top bar
Press What I'm short. It adds every block and unplaced item the plan needs beyond what you have, as crafts, and breaks them down to raw resources.
- Resources are grouped by where to go: by region from the Springlands to Cinder's Cradle, plus Anywhere. Crafted parts are grouped by the station that makes them.
- To craft is a table: crafts on the list, how many that makes, how many you have, and how many are still to make. Click an item for what the rest of it takes.
- What you already have isn't made again, so the resources count only what's still to make.
- Tick rows off as you collect. Copy as text gives you the list, ticks included, for your phone.
- Have counts come from the Inventory. Update counts in the Inventory closes the list and opens it on everything the list needs; the shortfalls shrink as you fill them in.
- Blocks with no recipe, like the isle's granite rock, are named in a message instead, since you gather them as they are.
The list's other buttons: Add from this plan takes everything, Materials only just the blocks, Everything else the chests, stations, furniture, doors and windows.
See what you can build now
Build tab, or the Mark built tool's bar: What I can afford
Each chunk in the view takes a colour. Finished blocks go to the largest chunks first, whole chunks only; then what you could craft goes to the chunks still waiting.
- Ready
- You hold enough finished blocks to build it.
- Craft first
- Not enough blocks yet, but you can craft them now from what you have.
- Close
- What's left covers three-quarters or more of it.
- Short
- Gather more first.
A chunk is every connected block of one material that the view shows. In 3D a whole building's outside can be one chunk. In Layers mode it's that layer's runs, which is finer.
Follow the steps
Build tab, Steps: Start or Next unbuilt N
- The order: each level group (lowest first), each labelled area in it, then one course at a time from the bottom.
- The step card names the area and course, the blocks to lay, and where it is from the altar.
- The views follow the step: Layers mode at that course, its blocks highlighted and the rest faded.
- , and . step back and forward. The outline jumps to any area and shows its progress.
Find where it goes
Altar card, inspector and View menu
- Altar card: hover a square in 2D or a block in 3D. A card at the top left of the map shows its distance from the altar's edges, in metres with blocks in brackets, and its height from the altar's base and from 0 m. A block right beside the altar reads 0. The card fades when your pointer comes near it.
- Build card: drag over squares in 2D, or click a block in 3D (it takes the whole connected chunk). The inspector shows its size in blocks, the blocks per material and how many are built, where it starts from the altar, and its levels. Copy sends it to your phone.
- Crowded builds: Show only the selection clips the 3D view to it, Frame the selection zooms to it, and the North, East, South and West presets give straight-on elevations.
Mark it built
Mark built tool J, in 2D or 3D
| Do this | To mark |
|---|---|
| Click | A whole chunk. Click a fully built chunk again to unmark it. |
| Shift click | One block |
| Alt click | Everything connected, shown or not |
| Drag | The squares you pass over, in the material you started on |
| Right-click | Unmarks instead |
| Ctrl Z | Takes back the last mark |
| Click an item | That chest, station, door or window as placed |
- Marking a chunk also marks the hidden stone cores touching it. In the steps, Mark this step built marks the whole course.
- Built blocks show faded with a tick in 2D and grey in 3D. Show progress keeps that visible while you use other tools.
- Progress is saved per block in the planner's database, so it survives a regenerated plan. A block whose material changed shows as not built.
Restock and repeat
Back to the Inventory
Lower a count in the Inventory as you place blocks, and raise it as you gather and craft. The Build tab's rows, the colours and the Crafting list update straight away. Press What I'm short again for the next gathering trip.
